Atty. Ronaldo Ledesma, BI Commissioner (in green barong) welcomes the IPSG Party

Two (2) high-ranking Officials of the INTERPOL General Secretariat finally meet NCB Manila’s colleagues from the Bureau of Immigration on February 16, 2011.

Despite the busy schedule, BI’s Honorable Commissioner Atty. - Ronaldo P Ledesma, gladly shared his precious time with the visiting team from INTERPOL.

Atty. Floro Balato of the BI toured the visitors to the premises of their Bureau. Impressed with BI’s contribution to the programs of the NCB, the visitors were even more surprised to see the BI Interpol Unit headed by Atty. Balato. The said unit was especially created to cater to the requirements of the INTERPOL NCB Manila.

The IPSG visitors were allowed to check the Fixed INTERPOL Network Database (FIND) installed at the Anti-Fraud Division, BI. A staff of the said division demonstrated her knowledge on the usage of the FIND system. The Bureau of Immigration was one of the agencies trained on the practical use of the MIND/FIND way back in 2009.

Passing through the stringent security measures at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA), the IPSG team was granted access to inspect the Mobile INTERPOL Network Database at the Terminal 1 of the airport. Having experienced the day, Mr. Raouf Atallah, Regional Specialized Officer, IPSG remarked that they really had an insightful and fruitful visit in Manila.
